My GPP and I have just returned from a beautiful nine day driving trip around Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and yes, we did play a little Gin Rummy in the evenings along the way. I will not discuss the results. Along the way, and beginning before we even got to the UP, we visited Hartwick Pines State Park, Charlevoix, Mackinaw City, and Mackinaw Island. Then crossed the Mackinaw Bridge, into the UP, toured the Soo Locks, saw Paradise, Tahquamenon Falls, Copper Harbor, Lake of the Clouds in Porcupine Mountains, and Iron Mountain. Every one of these places had something very special to recommend it, and over the next week I will write in detail about the highlights.
