salute to velcor
Today is the date, fifty years ago, that the astronauts were orbiting the moon, preparing for the landing and moon walk - 50 years ago tomorrow. As part of the report covering this on the morning news it was mentioned that velcro was invented to help tje astronauts in weightlessness. I have certainly appreciated the uses of velcro over the years but now, thanks to that report, I have visions of astronauts' equipment hanging all over the space capsule. The report mentioned that they used it to secure everything from books and tablets (the paper kind back then) to shoes and socks and parts of space suits. Kind of changes your image of the interior of a space shuttle, doesn't it?
