Today I called a friend, who happens to be a REALTOR and invited her to come to my house next week to do a market analysis for me, giving me an idea of what price I can sell my home for, and even more important, what changes, repairs, etc. I need to make in order to make the house marketable. Having worked in the real estate field for 25 years I do have some understanding of the process. The question is will I be the reasonable, flexible seller I always wanted my clients to be, or will I be the seller from hell, digging my heels in and insisting that buyers would rather replace the carpet themselves, and a few areas of peeling paint really shouldn't affect the price that much.
The other really big question is how fast can I get my basement cleaned out? Stay tuned.
