a pricey lesson learned
I needed a cashier's check or money order today, in order to submit an application for an apartment, so I went to my local bank, because that's where my money is. I was told that a cashier's check would cost $7.00 while a money order was cheaper - a mere $5.00. This seemed excessive to me but I was in a hurry so I purchased the money order. Later this afternoon I was shopping at Kroger's and, on a whim, asked the lady at the customer service desk how much they charge for a money order. Her - answer 69 cents. Guess where I'll be going from now on!
