Watch out for that ball!

I went to a baseball game last week and saw something I had heard about but never actually seen before.  They always warn about the possibility of getting hit by a foul ball (or any hit ball) but I assumed that the high net fence between the field and me would keep the balls away. Not so. I'm sure it prevents some injuries but the ball that hit the white haired lady seated in the next section flew up and over the net. I'm not sure where she was hit, presumably the head, but I'm pleased to say the response from park employees was very quick. EMS types and security guards gathered round and eventually we saw the victim being lifted onto a wheelchair with a brace around her neck and carried up the stairs and away from the stands.  No idea how badly she was hurt but I assume she survived.  Pretty sure we would have seen something on the news if she was killed. I don't mean to make light of it.  I think all the people, kids especially, who scramble to catch those high foul balls would be better off to just get out of the way. I know, I know - where's the fun in that.
