Today is "National Biscuit Day." As it happens, I'm very fond of biscuits, especially when they are covered with a good sausage gravy and topped with an egg over easy. I always order my egg 'over easy' when I'm eating in a restaurant because I never seem to accomplish that feat when cooking my own eggs at home. I can scramble eggs, also fry (with a hard center) and hard boil, super easy. But I never seem to accomplish an egg over easy with a nice gooey center. Either the yolk breaks or the yolk cooks until it's too hard, perfectly edible, but not quite as good as over easy. In case you're interested (and you might be if you are also a fan of biscuits and gravy) I have recently had biscuits and gravy at Junk Ditch, the Blue Bird Cafe, Divine Encounter Cafe, Joanna's Family Restaurant and Bob Evan's. All very good but it's hard to beat Bob Evan's. Is it breakfast time yet?
