Week after next our church will hold our MAD2 Camp, for the third year. I haven't heard the enrollment numbers yet but we cap it at 100, and the last two years were full. MAD2 stands for music, art, dance and drama, and the kids seem to have a really good time with it. The reason this is on my mind is because I took some refresher training in my part of the camp. Reminding me which switches are which. I think I have the very best job. I don't shepherd children from class to class, nor do I lead any classes or prep snacks or sign people in and out. All of these are great and necessary jobs but mine is the best. I got assigned this job three years ago almost by accident because people thought I knew a little bit about the theater. My job is to open up the theater, turn on the lights, turn on the sound, set up the microphones and be sure their batteries are charged. Then I sit at the large desk with all the controls (it looks really impressive to the little kids) keep an eye on everything and enjoy watching the classes learn their dances and songs. Yay, camp.
