Prettier by night...

I love the view from my balcony and a major part of that is the muddy old river, the St. Mary's, that flows along just beyond one of the apartment parking lots. By day it's sometimes pretty and sometimes rather mundane depending on what it's reflecting. Yesterday, when the sun was shining and the river was very still, I noticed that the reflection of the tree branches that reach out over the water looked like delicate lace. Of course ducks, geese and boats also liven it up during the day time. At night, especially when there is a breeze, the reflections of all the lights from the bridge and nearby buildings dance and sparkle on the water.  Very lovely and generally very relaxing and quiet except for an evening like tonight when there is a concert going on a half block away. A whole different kind of fun but not exactly relaxing. The concert season has begun.
