Jumping through hoops

As I clicked over to my blog account this evening, ready to attempt to write something witty or at least somewhat interesting, I was hit with an unfamiliar screen, and a demand for lots of information I don't usually need to enter.  I don't know why, it;s an on-line mystery to me, but here I am, almost an hour later, having jumped through multiple hoops, including a security phone call, ready to write, but it's too late now.  I'm going to bed.  Blame it on Google...
